The Los Angeles Lakers may be heading toward a tough financial situation after Austin Reaves turned down a contract extension offer.
According to Dan Woike of The Athletic, Reaves rejected a four-year deal worth $89.2 million, which is the maximum amount the Lakers could offer him at this time.
However, this doesn’t mean there’s any problem between Reaves and the team. Woike explained that turning down the offer was expected because of league rules limiting what the Lakers could offer this week.
For now, both sides are still on good terms, but the situation could get more complicated if another team offers Reaves a bigger deal in the future.
