The Brooklyn Nets pulled a surprising upset against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night by outlasting them 127-117. Missing some of the team’s big guns in Cam Thomas, Tyrese Martin is the unlikely hero for the Nets.
Martin came up with a career-high 30 points, shooting an amazing 10 for 13 from the field, including 8 three-pointers. That was a pretty good jump for Martin as his total NBA career score came only to 33.
Dennis Schroder also contributed with 29 points for the Nets. Ben Simmons also added a quality all-around game with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Devin Booker’s 31 points led the team, but nothing he could do could reverse the momentum that had overcome the Suns. They began to lose control in the third quarter and were never given a fighting chance by the Brooklyn Nets again. This win sends the Nets’ winning streak to four games, as the Suns now have seven losses in their last nine.
