LaMelo Ball, an NBA player, was fined $100,000 by the league for a homophobic remark during an interview after the game. The happening was during their winning game over Milwaukee Bucks by Charlotte Hornets.
Ball apologized later saying he never wanted to offend anyone and still loves everybody.
This certainly is not the first time that players of the NBA have been fined for behavior gone bad. In this regard, Minnesota Timberwolves player Anthony Edwards was fined $35,000 for an obscene gesture toward fans. Back then, Kevin Durant was also fined over some offending language on social media.
The NBA has taken serious counter-actions against such behaviors and the fines are a warning for the players to be proper players on and off the court.
