Andre Drummond is remaining with the Philadelphia 76ers at least through another season. Drummond has exercised his $5 million player option for the 2025–26 NBA season, per ESPN.
Drummond had a big role with the 76ers last year, particularly with star center Joel Embiid missing much time because of injury. In nearly 19 minutes per contest, Drummond averaged 7.3 points and 7.8 rebounds and shot 50% from the field.
His decision to remain is just a few weeks after the 76ers selected another center, Johni Broome of Auburn, in the second round of the 2025 NBA Draft. Despite having Broome joining the squad, Drummond’s experience and size will be an asset to the team.
This is Drummond’s second season with the Sixers. He initially played for the team for the 2021–22 campaign before being traded to the Brooklyn Nets as part of the James Harden trade. He came back to the team last summer signing a two-year, $10 million deal.
